Most OpenBSD performance tests are very 'ad hoc'
Hardware on hand
Quick tests
No Automation
Test conditions not well reported

Users often test the wrong thing
e.g. "MBits/s vs. Packets Per Second"

Generating (reliable) high load on "spare" hardware is hard
"Real" hardware is usually in production and can't be used extensively for testing
