the bridge is special-cased all over the stack
because of the irregular behaviour regarding cksums

once the bridge behaves, that can go

gross hack: short-circuit for broadcast
misbehaves
packet points to an interface with csum offload capas
no software checksumming happens
packet gets copied to all member interfaces
on those without offloading no checksumming happens
anyone wanna track that down?
